Maxibright Daylight LED 660w Pro Grow Light - High-Efficiency LED for 1.2m-1.5m Tents
Best for: Growers running a 1.2m x 1.2m or 1.5m x 1.5m tent who want the higher efficiency Pro version of the 660w Daylight LED.
Our thoughts
In terms of price versus performance, this is one of the better LED grow lights we've tested. The V2 update brings a slimmer build, IP65 rating and an external dimmer, and at 2.7 µmol/W it's a genuine step up over the standard 660w for anyone who wants more light per watt in the same tent size.
The Maxibright Daylight LED 660w Pro is the higher-efficiency version of the 660w Daylight fixture, built with super-efficient Lumiled and Osram diodes across a 6-bar "spider" design for the most uniform light spread Maxibright can manage at this wattage. It delivers a total PPF of 1782 µmol/s at a fixture efficiency of 2.7 µmol per watt, with a red-heavy spectrum for strong flowering performance. The current V2 build is slimmer and more compact than earlier versions, IP65 rated, and uses an external dimmer.
It's dimmable from 100% down to 25% without needing the included controller, ships dismantled to fit through tight spaces like loft hatches, and runs on silent passive heatsink cooling with no fans. It's optimised for a 1.2m x 1.2m or 1.5m x 1.5m grow tent, rated for a 50,000-hour lifespan (around 11.42 years on a 12/12 cycle), and backed by a 3-year manufacturer's warranty. This model is purchase-to-order - call ahead for current lead times.
How it compares
At 2.7 µmol/W, this Pro version sits above the standard 660w Daylight on efficiency and competes directly with premium mid-range LEDs from other brands.
- Against the standard Daylight 660w (2.3 µmol/W, 1518 µmol/s), the Pro delivers noticeably more usable light per watt for a higher price.
- Compared with Lumatek's Attis 600-series fixtures, the Daylight 660w Pro's 6-bar spread and IP65 rating are competitive, typically at a lower price for similar PPF output.
- Against Gavita's wide-bar LED designs (which pioneered the "spider" layout both brands now use), Maxibright offers a similar even-spread approach at a more accessible price point.
This is the efficiency-focused choice at 660w - you pay more than the standard model, but get a genuinely higher light output per watt in return.
Usage guidance
The Pro's higher output rewards a bit more attention to hanging height and dimming than the standard model.
Assembly
Ships dismantled - clip the 6 bars into place following the included instructions, which takes a few minutes without tools.
Dimming
Use the external dimmer to run down to 25% during propagation and early veg, increasing toward full power as the canopy fills in through flowering.
Hanging height
Given the higher PPF output, start a little higher above the canopy than you might with the standard 660w, lowering gradually and watching for leaf stress.
Room fit
Optimised for 1.2m x 1.2m or 1.5m x 1.5m tents - for smaller spaces, the 480w Pro will give better value.

- Growers who value the V2 build's slimmer profile and external dimmer
- Buyers happy to plan around a purchase-to-order lead time for the right light
Best suited to a single 1.2m-1.5m tent grow rather than propagation-only or much larger rooms.
Our take
This is one of the stronger performers in the Daylight range - the efficiency jump over the standard 660w is real, and the V2 build improvements make it easier to live with day to day.
If you're kitting out a 1.2m-1.5m tent and want the Pro-level efficiency, this is worth the extra outlay over the standard model. Proper kit at a price that makes sense for what it delivers.
