Maxibright Daylight LED 660w Grow Light - Compact, Even Coverage for 1.2m-1.5m Tents
Best for: Growers running a 1.2m x 1.2m or 1.5m x 1.5m tent who want strong, evenly-spread LED coverage without paying Pro-model prices.
Our thoughts
In terms of price versus performance, this is one of the better LED grow lights we've tested at this wattage. It won't match the Pro's 2.7 µmol/W efficiency, but 2.3 µmol/W and a 1518 µmol/s PPF is still a proper amount of light for a 1.2m or 1.5m tent, and it comes in noticeably cheaper.
The Maxibright Daylight LED 660w is a slimmer, more compact version of the Daylight fixture, IP65 rated and built with Lumiled and Osram diodes in a spider-arm design for uniform light spread. It delivers a total PPF of 1518 µmol/s at a fixture efficiency of 2.3 µmol per watt, with a red-heavy spectrum designed to help plants pile on weight through flowering. It's dimmable from 100% down to 30% using the supplied controller.
Like the rest of the range, it ships dismantled to fit through tight spaces, assembles without tools, and runs on passive heatsink cooling with no fans for silent operation. It's optimised to cover a 1.2m x 1.2m or 1.5m x 1.5m grow tent, has a low profile for tight headroom, and is rated for a 50,000-hour lifespan (around 11.42 years on a 12/12 cycle) with a 3-year manufacturer's warranty. This model is purchase-to-order, so extended lead times apply.
How it compares
This is the standard-efficiency 660w in the Daylight range, positioned below the Pro version on µmol/W but ahead of it on price.
- The Maxibright Daylight 660w Pro delivers a higher 2.7 µmol/W and 1782 µmol/s PPF from a similar-sized fixture, for a higher price.
- Against Lumatek's mid-to-high wattage LED range, this fixture's spider-arm spread and IP65 rating are broadly comparable, typically at a lower price point.
- Compared with HPS lighting of similar wattage, this LED runs at roughly 2.3 µmol/W versus HPS efficiency of around 2.1 µmol/W at best, alongside running noticeably cooler.
You're getting solid, tested LED performance at a price below the Pro tier - a sensible choice if you don't need the extra efficiency.
Usage guidance
A well-spread fixture like this still benefits from proper hanging and dimming habits.
Assembly
Ships dismantled for easy transport through doors and loft hatches - clip the arms into place, which takes a few minutes without tools.
Dimming
Use the supplied controller to run down to 30% during propagation and early veg, stepping up toward full power as plants mature into flowering.
Hanging height
Start higher above the canopy and lower gradually, checking for leaf stress as intensity increases.
Room fit
Optimised for a 1.2m x 1.2m or 1.5m x 1.5m tent - for smaller spaces, the 480w Daylight will be a more efficient use of your budget.

Who this is for

- Anyone switching from HPS to LED and wanting a step up in efficiency and heat output
- Growers who don't need the very top efficiency figure in the range
- Buyers happy to plan around a purchase-to-order lead time
Best suited to a single 1.2m-1.5m tent rather than propagation-only or larger commercial spaces.
Our take
This is a genuinely well-tested light at a price that undercuts the Pro tier without giving up much real-world performance for a standard tent grow.
If 2.3 µmol/W and even coverage across a 1.2m-1.5m tent is what you need, this is worth picking up. One we sell a lot of for new growers.
