Round Pot Saucers — Heavy-Duty Plastic Drip Trays for Indoor Growing
Best for: Any indoor grower who doesn't want water spilling across their floor every time they water
Our thoughts
These are the unglamorous workhorse of any grow setup. You won't think about them until you don't have them — then you're mopping up. Rigid black plastic, raised feet so run-off actually drains, and built to last. One we sell loads of because they just work and cost next to nothing.
Round pot saucers are a straightforward but essential bit of kit. They sit under your pots and catch the water run-off that drains out when you water — stopping it from flooding your grow room floor or damaging surfaces underneath. Made from durable, rigid black plastic with high lipped sides and ridged stand-offs on the bottom, they're designed to hold serious water without warping, and they'll take the weight of a full pot without complaint.
How it compares
- Heavy-duty plastic construction versus cheaper thin-wall alternatives that buckle after a season
- Ridged base design means your pot sits raised above standing water — no stagnant puddles rotting roots
- UV stabilised so they won't fade or degrade under grow lights
- Reusable and mixable across different pot sizes — one saucer, multiple seasons
- Works with round pots, square pots, and fabric pots if you're careful with sizing
Usage guidance
Water management and run-off collection
When you water, you want roughly 10–20% run-off coming out the bottom of the pot. This flushes out old salts and nutrients that build up in your medium. The saucer catches this run-off so it doesn't wreck your floor. Once the pot's finished draining (give it 10–15 minutes), tip the water away — don't let the pot sit in stagnant water all day.
Monitoring plant health through drain water
The run-off collected in your saucer is money. Test the pH and EC of that water and you'll know if your medium is locked up, over-fed, or out of balance. This is especially useful in hydroponic or coco setups where nutrient control matters.
Sizing your saucer to your pot
Use the inner diameter of the saucer to work out the largest pot you can fit. The outer diameter tells you how much floor space it'll take up. If you're stacking saucers in a tight space, measure twice.
Seasonal use and thermal protection
Round pot saucers also provide a bit of thermal insulation between your pots and cold floors — useful if you're growing somewhere chilly. Stops roots getting shocked by direct contact with cold surfaces.

Our take
These are proper pots saucers at a price that makes sense. They're not fancy, but they do exactly what they should — catch water, let it drain, and last for years. Buy the size that matches your pot diameter, stack them if you need to, and stop worrying about wet floors.
Worth picking up if you haven't got them sorted yet. Good time to buy while stock lasts.
