Kingfisher Plant Labels - 50 Pack - Weatherproof Tags to Keep Your Grow Sorted
Best for: anyone running more than one strain, variety or feeding schedule who needs a quick, cheap way to keep track of what's what.
Our thoughts
Nothing fancy here, and it doesn't need to be. Fifty plastic labels for a few quid, and they'll outlast the wooden lolly-stick versions without going soft and mouldy in a humid tent. If you're growing more than one thing at a time, you need these, full stop.
Kingfisher Plant Labels are simple, weatherproof plastic markers designed to sit in pots, trays or beds so you always know what's growing where. Each label stands roughly 12.5cm tall with a wide, flat top section for writing on, and a pointed base that pushes straight into soil, coco or growing media without bending.
Being plastic rather than wood, they hold up far better in a humid grow room. Wooden markers soak up moisture and start to soften, warp or grow mould after a few weeks under a tent; these won't. Write on them in pencil or permanent marker, and they can be wiped clean and reused for the next run if you're not precious about keeping a permanent record.
How it compares
Plant labels are a low-cost category, but not all of them are built the same.
- Wooden lolly-stick style labels are cheaper again but soften and rot quickly in humid tents; these plastic ones don't.
- Premium waterproof vinyl tags (the kind sold as "nursery tags" by garden centre suppliers) cost more per label and are aimed at outdoor use over multiple seasons, which is overkill for a grow tent cycle.
- Metal or engraved markers exist for permanent outdoor planting schemes but are unnecessary expense for tracking strains through a grow.
For labelling pots and trays through a grow cycle, a cheap, durable plastic label does the job without over-spending.
Usage guidance
These are about as simple as grow room kit gets, but a couple of pointers help them last.
Writing on them
Pencil is easiest to read and wipes off for reuse; permanent marker lasts longer but won't come off if you want to relabel later.
Placement
Push the pointed end into the media at the edge of the pot or tray so it doesn't get knocked out when you're watering or moving plants.
Reuse
Wipe down with a damp cloth between grows if you've used pencil, ready to relabel for the next run.

Our take
There's not much to overthink with plant labels: they need to survive a humid tent and hold a legible mark, and these do both for a few quid. Fifty labels covers a decent-sized grow with spares left over.
Does exactly what it should, day in, day out. One we sell a lot of for new growers setting up their first multi-strain tent.
