Dutch Pro Autoflower Grow Hydro/Coco A&B HW — Two-Part Veg Nutrient for Hard Water Growers
Best for: Growers running autoflowering plants in hydroponic or coco systems where hard water is the norm
Our thoughts
Autoflowers don't give you much time to fix mistakes, so your nutrient choice matters. Dutch Pro's autoflower-specific formula takes the guesswork out of veg feeding — it's balanced for the short lifecycle and actually accounts for what's already in your hard water. That's rare. Set it right and it just runs clean without stressing plants or causing mineral lockouts.
Dutch Pro Autoflower Grow Hydro/Coco A&B HW is a two-part hydroponic base nutrient built specifically for autoflowering plants during vegetative growth in hydro and coco systems using hard water. It's a proper two-part formula — Part A and Part B kept separate to prevent nutrient precipitation — which means you get more micronutrients and better nutrient availability than single-part alternatives. The Hard Water variant accounts for the higher calcium and magnesium already present in hard water supplies, so you're not stacking minerals on top of what's already there.
How it compares
Two-part hydroponic nutrients sit above one-part systems in terms of micronutrient delivery. This one's rare because it's autoflower-optimised.
- Autoflower-specific formulation (most competitors use generic veg feeds)
- Hard water variant — eliminates the need to adjust for regional mineral content
- Two-part system delivers wider micronutrient range than single-part alternatives
- Mid-range pricing against premium brands like CANNA Coco or Advanced Nutrients Sensi
- 30+ years of Dutch growing heritage backing the formula
You're getting a professional-grade feed without the premium markup. CANNA Coco and Advanced Nutrients work fine, but they cost more and aren't tailored to short-cycle plants.
Usage guidance
Mixing protocol
Fill your reservoir with water. Add Part A first, mix thoroughly for 1-2 minutes, then add equal amounts of Part B. Always keep them separate until they hit the water. Never mix the concentrates together — that's the whole point of two-part systems.
Dosage
Dutch Pro recommend 2.5-3.5 ml/litre of both Part A and Part B combined. Use a syringe or measuring beaker for accuracy, not eyeballing. Check your strength with an EC/PPM meter (Bluelab Truncheon is the standard).
Feeding schedule for autos
Start at the lower end (2.5 ml/L) in early veg. Autos don't need aggressive feeding — they're on a timer and won't recover from overfeed. Monitor plant response and increase gradually if needed. Switch to Dutch Pro Autoflower Bloom when you see the first flowers form.
Hard water application
This HW variant is designed for areas with high mineral content (calcium and magnesium). If you're in the South East, London, Midlands, or other hard water regions, use this. If you're on soft water or rainwater, get the SW version instead — it's a different ratio.
System compatibility
Works cleanly in hydroponic systems (flood and drain, drip, NFT, DWC) and as a feed for run-to-waste coco setups. Coco users should pair with coco-specific feeding — Dutch Pro make boosters like Multi Total and Take Root that work well alongside.

Who this is for
- Autoflower growers running hydroponic or coco systems in hard water areas
- Intermediate growers who want precision feeding without overcomplicating things

- Growers who want a system they can set and rely on without constant adjustment
- UK-based cultivators in hard water regions (South East, London, Midlands) who need mineral compensation
- Experienced growers stepping into short-cycle autoflower production
Particularly well suited to setups where consistency and reliability matter more than brand names, and where hard water is the actual bottleneck.
Our take
Dutch Pro's been doing this for over 30 years. They've invested in what's in the bottle rather than flashy packaging, which is why this hits the value mark cleanly. The fact they've made an autoflower-specific formula shows they actually understand the challenge — short lifecycle, no recovery window, no room for mistakes.
The hard water variant is properly useful if you're in a region where mineral content's already high. You're not fighting your water supply, you're working with it.
If you're growing autos in hydro or coco on hard water, this is worth picking up. Does exactly what it should, day in, day out. Good time to buy while clearance stock lasts.
