AutoPot 9mm Filter for 30L and 47L Tank - Keeps Debris Out of Your AQUAvalves
Best for: Protecting AQUAvalve5 units on a 30 litre or 47 litre tank setup from grit, algae and root debris blocking the feed.
Our thoughts
AQUAvalves are precision bits of kit, and even fine debris can make one stick open or shut. This filter is a cheap bit of insurance against that, especially if you're reusing an old tank or growing in hard water. Not a part to skip to save a couple of pounds.
This is AutoPot's inline filter sized to fit at the outlet of the 30 litre and 47 litre tank range, sitting between the tank and your 9mm pipe run. It traps particulate, algae fragments and any grit that finds its way into the reservoir before it can reach an AQUAvalve5 and interfere with the float mechanism.
It's a straightforward push-fit part with a mesh filter housing, designed to be checked and rinsed clean periodically as part of normal tank maintenance.
How it compares
It's sized specifically for AutoPot's smaller tank range rather than being a universal filter.
- Versus the larger golf-ball style filter used on AutoPot's 100L and 225L flexitanks, this smaller filter is fitted for the 30L/47L tank outlet and isn't interchangeable with the bigger tank fittings.
- Versus running a system without any filter, AQUAvalves are precision components and even fine debris can cause a stuck float or an uneven feed cycle.
- Versus a generic garden irrigation filter, this one is sized to click directly into AutoPot's own 9mm fittings without adapters.
A small, cheap part that protects a much more expensive one, the AQUAvalve, from the kind of debris that causes AutoPot systems the most trouble.
Usage guidance
Fitting
Fit the filter at the tank outlet, before the 9mm pipe run splits off to your modules, so all the water passes through it.
Maintenance
Check and rinse the mesh periodically, more often if you're reusing an older tank, growing in hard water, or have noticed any slow-filling AQUAvalves.
When to replace
If the mesh becomes clogged or damaged, replace it rather than running without one, it's a small cost against the risk of a stuck valve.

Who this is for
- 30L and 47L tank owners running any AutoPot module
- Growers reusing an older tank that may have grit or algae buildup
- Anyone in a hard water area topping up with tap water
- Growers who've had a sticking AQUAvalve before
A sensible addition to any 30L or 47L tank setup, not just a nice-to-have.
Our take
It's an easy part to overlook when you're building a system, but it's cheap protection for the part of the system that actually costs money to replace. Worth adding to any 30L or 47L tank order.
Does exactly what it should, day in, day out, and one less thing to worry about with an unattended system.
