This is AutoPot's own 6mm internal / 9mm external diameter Flexi-pipe, used to carry nutrient solution from a header tank or FlexiTank to individual AQUAvalves via filters, tee-pieces, elbows and cross connectors. It's tough, flexible, and easy to cut to length with a sharp blade or pipe cutter. The blue colouring isn't just cosmetic - it blocks light from reaching the solution inside, which stops algae building up in the pipe over time.
This 6mm/9mm size is the pipe used on AutoPot's older systems, fitted before the AQUAvalve5 update in August 2020. If you're running an older AutoPot setup, this is the correct match for your existing fittings; newer AV5 systems use a slightly different 9mm/7mm pipe, so it's worth checking which valve generation you have before ordering.
How it compares
There's no real substitute for AutoPot's own pipe if you want a proper fit on an AutoPot system.
- Generic aquarium or garden hose tubing in a similar diameter will often fit AutoPot fittings, but lacks the UV-blocking blue colour, so algae can build up faster inside clear or lightly tinted pipe.
- AutoPot's newer 9mm (7mm internal) pipe is designed specifically for AQUAvalve5 systems fitted after August 2020 - it isn't a drop-in swap for this legacy 6mm size.
