Athena Nutrients Blended Line – Bloom A&B — Clean 2-Part Flowering System for Any Setup
Best for: Growers moving to the flowering stage who want professional-grade feeding without sediment or system clogging
Our thoughts
We bought heavy on this one, so you benefit. Athena Bloom is the kind of thing commercial growers keep quiet about because it works so reliably. Two-part, sediment-free, and it plays nicely with precision systems. One you'll keep coming back to once you've dialled it in.
Athena Bloom A&B is a 2-part liquid nutrient system designed to support heavy flowering and fruit development across any grow media or watering method. Born in California's professional growing operations, it blends top-tier macronutrients with chelated micronutrients to maximise nutrient uptake across a wide pH range—no faffing about with constant adjustments. The formula is completely sediment-free, meaning it won't clog drippers, venturis, dosers, or peristaltic pumps in automated irrigation setups. It's the kind of thing that looks simple on the surface but does its job properly day in, day out.
How it compares
Athena Bloom sits in the professional-home crossover tier of 2-part bloom systems.
-
vs. Advanced Nutrients Sensi Bloom: Similar quality and price tier; Advanced has auto-pH adjustment, Athena offers more flexibility in your feeding programme
-
vs. General Hydroponics FloraNova: Athena is 2-part (more micronutrients); FloraNova is simpler but one-part, less customisable
-
vs. Budget alternatives: Athena costs more per gallon than powder systems (Jack's 321), but zero risk of blockages and professional-grade reliability built in
The real win here is sediment-free performance. If you're running dripper lines or any automation, Athena won't clog your kit. That alone saves headaches.
Usage guidance
Athena Bloom A&B is straightforward to use, but there are a few rules that matter.
When to start
Begin transitioning to Bloom A&B when plants show initial signs of entering the flowering stage. Stop using Grow A&B, switch to Bloom A&B in equal parts.
Dosing
Add 2–7 mL of Bloom A per gallon of water (scale up to 2–15 mL for heavier feeding or larger systems). Always use equal parts Bloom A and Bloom B to maintain proper nutrient ratios. Never mix the parts in undiluted form—always add separately to water.
Recirculating systems (DWC, drip, aeroponics)
This is where Athena shines. The sediment-free formula won't clog fine emitters or drainage lines. Monitor EC regularly and adjust feeding strength based on crop demand. Weekly reservoir changes are recommended to reestablish mineral balance.
Hand watering (coco, soil, rockwool)
Mix at target strength and feed to runoff. Adjust EC throughout the cycle—you can dial it up during peak flowering demand or dial it down if you see any salt buildup.
pH and mixing
Mix all nutrients first, then adjust pH to proper levels (5.8–6.2 depending on media). Avoid using an airstone in your reservoir—use a circulation pump instead, as airstones can cause pH to rise over time.

Who this is for
- Precision growers running automated drip or recirculating systems who need zero-clog reliability
- Commercial-scale growers and mid-tier home operations—this is what the professionals use
- Anyone growing across multiple media types (coco, hydro, soil) and wanting one consistent formula
- Growers who've outgrown simple one-part nutrients and want more control over their feeding programme
- Hydroponics specialists looking for professional-grade simplicity without the price shock
Our take
This is the kind of nutrient system that stays off the forum hype machine because the growers using it are too busy getting results to shout about it. Athena Bloom A&B is clean, reliable, and does exactly what a 2-part bloom formula should—maximise flowering without any guesswork or system headaches.
The sediment-free thing isn't marketing fluff; if you've ever had a dripper clog mid-cycle, you'll appreciate it. Professional-grade kit at a sensible price. Worth picking up while clearance stock lasts.
