Newa-Jet Submersible Water Pumps — Quiet, Efficient Circulation for Large-Scale Hydroponics
Best for: Mid-scale growers running ebb & flow, aeroponic, or NFT systems who need reliable high-volume water circulation without the inline pump price tag
Our thoughts
This is the pump you buy when hobby setups stop cutting it. Moves serious volume, stays quiet doing it, and plays nicely with IWS Pro systems. The dual-mode design (submersible or dry-run) is clever engineering—gives you flexibility without compromise. One we recommend a lot for growers scaling up properly.
Newa-Jet Submersible Water Pumps are built for growers running larger systems who need high-volume water circulation without the noise or complexity. Moving 1,200–1,700 litres per hour depending on model, they're purpose-built for ebb & flood, aeroponic, and NFT setups where standard hobby pumps simply don't cut it anymore. The real win: you get dual-mode operation—fully submerged in your reservoir or mounted externally as a dry-run circulation pump. That's flexibility most competitors don't bother offering.
They're quiet, efficient with power consumption, and thermally protected so they won't burn out if run dry. The outlet design fits perfectly with IWS Pro Flexi Pipe (25mm internal diameter), making them a natural choice if you're already running an IWS system.
How it compares
Newa-Jet sits in the mid-scale commercial sweet spot—too powerful for hobby growers, but submersible (not inline), making it ideal for growers who've outgrown entry-level kit.
-
vs Active Aqua: Budget-friendly but lower flow rates; Newa-Jet handles bigger systems and integrates with IWS Pro
-
vs Hailea T Series: Similar dual-mode capability and reliability; Newa-Jet edges ahead on flow volume and head height (3.6m vertical lift)
-
vs Leader Ecodiver: Leader is premium commercial-grade with modular impellers; Newa-Jet is the practical choice for serious growers without commercial budgets
In short: you're getting proper large-scale circulation performance at a price that doesn't require a business account.
Usage guidance
As a submersible pump (in-reservoir)
Drop the unit into your tank or reservoir. Screw the hose attachment into the top, push suitable piping over the outlet barbs (21.4mm and 26.9mm outer diameter options available). Use warm water to soften the pipe beforehand—makes fitting a damn sight easier. Fit the sucker pads to hold it steady on the reservoir floor.
As a dry-run external pump (out of water)
Unplug the unit, remove the two screws securing the front panel, and push the supplied inlet adapter into the circular hole around the impeller. Twist the fixing over the adapter to secure it. Now you've got an external circulation pump that draws from a tank and pushes through your system. Useful for stand-alone nutrient circulation or larger layouts where submerged isn't practical.
Flow adjustment
Turn the dial over the inlet point to select your desired flow rate. Fine control without rewiring or swapping components—exactly what you need when systems are dialled in.
What it handles
Works with water, nutrient solutions, or blends of both. The 3.6 metre head height means it'll push water up risers or through elevated systems without struggling. Ideal for ebb & flood systems (which need higher volume than NFT), aeroponics, and any large-scale hydroponic setup where 1,000+ litres per hour is the baseline.

Who this is for
- Ebb & flood growers who've outgrown hobby pumps and need reliable high-volume circulation
- IWS Pro system users looking for a native-compatible pump that actually integrates properly
- Growers scaling from single-room to multi-room or larger commercial setups
- Anyone running aeroponic or advanced NFT systems where flow rate and head height matter
- Experienced growers who want efficiency and quiet operation without paying for inline pump complexity
Not really aimed at first-time growers or hobby-scale single-pot setups—this is for growers serious enough to be moving serious water volumes day in, day out.
Our take
This is what you buy when your hobby pump becomes a bottleneck. It's proper engineering: dual-mode flexibility, thermal protection, fine flow control, and the noise levels won't drive you up the wall. The IWS Pro integration is a genuine differentiator in the UK market—if you're running an IWS system, this just works.
Flow rate and head height are exactly where they need to be for mid-scale commercial growing without the commercial price tag. Reliable performance without overpaying for features you don't need. Good time to buy while clearance stock lasts.
