Omega Black 720W Plus LED Grow Light - Integrated-Driver Bar LED for 1.2m x 1.2m Tents
Best for: growers with a 1.2m x 1.2m tent who want a full-spectrum bar-style LED with the driver built in, so there's no separate ballast to mount or wire.
Our thoughts
The "Plus" here isn't just a name change - it's the updated version of the Omega Black 720W with the driver built into the fixture itself, so you lose the separate external driver box that the original version needed. That's a genuine simplification for anyone who's ever wrestled with driver placement in a small tent. Solid, no-nonsense bar LED for the price.
The Omega Black 720W Plus LED Grow Light is a full-spectrum bar-style LED fixture built for 1.2m x 1.2m grow spaces, delivering a PPF of 2088 µmol/s at an efficacy of 2.9 µmol/J across 1824 LEDs. Unlike the standard Omega Black 720W, which uses a separate external driver, the Plus version has the driver fully integrated into the fixture - there's nothing extra to mount, and one less cable run to manage in the tent.
It runs on a 220-240V input, drawing up to 3.79A at 200V (or 3.45A at 220V / 3.16A at 240V), and is dimmable via a 0-10V control input. Multiple units link together using RJ11 daisy-chain connectors (IN/OUT), which makes it straightforward to scale up across a larger room or sync several fixtures to one timer. It's CE and UKCA certified, and folds down to 1060mm x 980mm for easier transport and storage.
How it compares
720W bar LEDs are a popular mid-to-large tent category, with Omega positioned as the value option against several established premium brands.
- The Maxibright Varidrive 720W LED is a well-regarded competitor at a noticeably higher price point for broadly comparable coverage
- Gavita and Lumatek's equivalent bar fixtures are widely considered class leaders on PAR efficiency, but typically cost significantly more than the Omega Black Plus
- Against the standard (non-Plus) Omega Black 720W with its external driver, the Plus trades a small amount of setup flexibility for a tidier, simpler single-unit install
If you want serious 720W output for a 1.2m x 1.2m tent without paying premium-brand prices, this gets you most of the way there for considerably less outlay.
Usage guidance
Mounting
Hang centrally above a 1.2m x 1.2m footprint, starting around 30-45cm above the canopy in veg and raising as the light intensity and plant height increase.
Dimming
Use the 0-10V dimming input with a compatible controller to ramp output up gradually in early veg and back down for end-of-flower finishing, protecting young plants from light stress.
Daisy-chaining
Connect multiple units via the RJ11 IN/OUT ports to run several fixtures from a single timer or controller - check your total circuit load before linking more than a couple of units together.

- Anyone upgrading from HPS/CMH to LED who wants the simplicity of an integrated driver
- Growers planning to scale up with multiple daisy-chained fixtures
Best suited to growers who want serious LED output in a standard 1.2m x 1.2m footprint without a premium-brand price tag.
Our take
The built-in driver is a genuine upgrade over the original Black 720W, and the PPF/efficacy figures stack up well against pricier bar LEDs on the market. It's not going to out-spec a Gavita or Lumatek flagship, but it gets remarkably close for a fraction of the cost.
Proper kit at a much lower price than usual - a strong choice if you want 720W of full-spectrum LED without the premium-brand markup.
