Mammoth Foam Box Fans — Quiet Extraction Power for Large-Scale Growing
Best for: Large-scale growers and noise-conscious setups needing serious airflow without the racket
Our thoughts
If you're running a big grow and noise is a problem, this is the fan you need. Mammoth Foam Box Fans are proper kit — solid, reliable, and they shift enormous amounts of air whilst staying quiet. The foam insulation actually works, the build is bulletproof, and they arrive ready to plug in. One we sell a lot of for serious growers.
Mammoth Foam Box Fans are high-capacity extraction fans housed in thick, sound-dampening foam insulation. They're designed to move stale air out of large grow rooms whilst keeping noise to a minimum — a combination that separates them from standard box fans. Pre-assembled, moisture-resistant, and ready to run straight out of the box, they're built for growers who need extraction power without the operational footprint.
How it compares
Mammoth sits at the premium end of box fan options, but not without reason.
-
vs standard wooden box fans: Quieter operation, better moisture protection, lighter weight, professionally pre-assembled
-
vs budget box fans: Substantially reduced noise, superior insulation, longer lifespan in humid environments
-
vs inline duct fans: Easier installation, more portable, better suited to tight spaces; inline fans offer more compact ducting but require more setup
-
vs EC fans: Less energy-efficient upfront, but no speed controller required; EC fans are quieter still but cost significantly more
In short: you're paying for acoustic engineering and build quality that actually delivers. No assembly guesswork. No moisture damage creeping in.
Usage guidance
Mammoth Foam Box Fans work as either intake or extraction units, depending on your setup.
Large-scale extraction
Use to pull stale air out of your grow room. As a rule of thumb, the air in your space should be fully moved around every 1–3 minutes. Calculate your room volume in cubic metres, multiply by the air changes you need per hour, and match it to the fan's m³/hr rating.
Fresh air intake
Mount at the opposite end of the room to your extract fan. This creates positive pressure, removes hotspots, controls humidity, and stops mould and mildew from taking hold.
Noise-sensitive environments
The foam insulation dampens both motor noise and vibration. Anti-vibration feet come fitted. If further isolation is needed, sit the fan on the included foam base plate rather than hanging it.
Humid grow rooms
The foam construction resists moisture far better than wooden alternatives. Regular cleaning of intake filters recommended to maintain performance.

Who this is for
- Large-scale growers running multiple rooms or high-volume setups
- Noise-sensitive locations where stealth matters
- Growers in humid environments prone to moisture damage
- Anyone replacing wooden box fans and wanting better longevity
- Professional operations where extraction reliability is non-negotiable
Best suited to spaces where performance, quiet operation, and durability all matter equally.
Our take
This is proper extraction kit. The foam insulation works, the airflow is serious, and it arrives ready to go. You're not paying for branding here — you're paying for engineering that lets you scale without waking the neighbours.
If you're building a large-scale setup or replacing worn fans, worth picking up while stock lasts. Does exactly what it should, day in, day out.
