G.A.S AirOzone In-Duct Ozone Generator — Corona Discharge Odour Control for Grow Room Ventilation
Best for: Growers who need reliable odour elimination beyond carbon filtration alone, especially in high-humidity or high-intensity growing environments
Our thoughts
We see this used most effectively as a second line of defence, not a replacement for a carbon filter. Installed correctly in the duct run after your extractor fan, it takes care of the lingering smells that filters sometimes miss. Corona discharge ozone generators are proven kit — low maintenance, quiet, and once it's fitted properly, you don't really need to think about it again. Worth considering if odour control needs to be watertight.
The G.A.S AirOzone is an in-duct ozone generator designed to neutralise odours at source by destroying organic molecules rather than simply filtering them. Using corona discharge plates, it ionises air to produce ozone (O3) — a highly reactive oxidising agent that bonds with and eliminates bacteria, mould spores, and stubborn plant-related odours before they leave your ducting.
This is complementary odour control. It works best alongside a carbon filter as part of a layered strategy, giving you peace of mind in spaces where smell escape really isn't an option.
How it compares
The AirOzone sits in the mid-range in-duct ozone category.
- Corona discharge technology — reliable, proven, EU-standard compliant
- Serviceable design — ozone plates can be replaced when output drops, extending product life
- Fixed output (unlike adjustable premium models), but matched to duct sizes 150mm–315mm
- Lower power consumption than UV-C alternatives (10W–50W depending on size)
- Works effectively at up to 80% RH — critical for UK growing conditions
- Better value than sealed, non-serviceable high-end competitors
Usage guidance
Installation position
Install directly into your ducting after the extractor fan and carbon filter. Typical setup: Carbon Filter > Fast Clamp > Extractor Fan > Fast Clamp > G.A.S AirOzone > 5 metres of ducting minimum before the final outlet.
Ducting compatibility
Use only metallic ducting (Flexiduct, Acoustic Ducting, or Combi-Ducting) after the generator. Do NOT use Phonic Trap ducting — ozone will damage it.
Electrical setup
The AirOzone must be wired by a qualified electrician. It should run whenever your extractor fan is on. If you're using a fan speed controller, the AirOzone needs its own dedicated mains supply — it won't work on a controlled circuit.
Ozone mixing time
The 5-metre ducting run is essential. It gives ozone time to mix thoroughly with the air and neutralise odours as it travels, rather than rushing out untreated.
When to use it
Most effective where plant material produces particularly pungent odours or where odour escape is a genuine concern. Also useful in high-humidity environments (up to 80% RH) where carbon filter performance alone might not be quite enough.

Who this is for
- Growers in shared or sensitive locations where odour control must be completely reliable
- Anyone running high-output growing spaces where carbon filtration alone feels insufficient
- Spaces with naturally high humidity (UK climates) where ozone tolerance matters
- Growers who want to extend their carbon filter's working life by pre-treating air
- Anyone seeking a low-maintenance, long-term odour solution that doesn't add noise or complexity
Also particularly suited to growers who prefer layered, complementary odour defence over relying on a single piece of kit.
Our take
This is a properly engineered, no-fuss way to tighten up odour control. Corona discharge ozone generators are proven technology — thousands of growers use them. The G.A.S AirOzone is EU-built, serviceable (you can replace the plates when output drops), and does exactly what it should when installed correctly.
It's not a carbon filter replacement, and it doesn't need to be. Used as a complementary tool — secondary line of defence in your ducting — it handles the smells that filters sometimes miss, especially in high-humidity or high-intensity growing environments.
Good time to buy while stock lasts if odour control is non-negotiable in your space. Size up by your ducting diameter and you're sorted.
