AutoPot AirDome — Root Zone Aeration Kit for Substrate-Based Growing
Best for: AutoPot growers wanting to boost root development and yields through simple, affordable aeration
Our thoughts
If you're running AutoPot and not aerating your root zone, you're leaving growth on the table. The AirDome is a no-fuss way to add oxygen where it matters — right at the roots. Cheap to buy, takes 30 seconds to assemble, and the feedback from growers is solid. One we recommend for anyone wanting to squeeze more out of their AutoPot setup.
The AutoPot AirDome is a dome-shaped in-pot aeration system designed to increase dissolved oxygen in your root zone during substrate-based growing. It works by housing porous tubing that distributes air directly into the pot, improving root development, nutrient uptake, and overall plant vigour. Supplied as a complete kit with all connectors and tubing included, it's a straightforward upgrade that plugs into any gravity-fed AutoPot system and requires just an external air pump to run.
More oxygen in the root zone means faster growth, healthier plants, and noticeably improved yields. It's one of the simplest upgrades you can make to an AutoPot setup, and at this price, it's worth doing from the start.
How it compares
There are other ways to aerate — air stones, air pots, venturi systems — but the AirDome is purpose-built for AutoPot.
-
vs. Universal air stones: AirDome is designed specifically for in-pot use with AutoPot systems; air stones are generic and require separate assembly
-
vs. Air Pot containers: AirDome works with any pot and your existing setup; Air Pots require a container swap
-
vs. No aeration: Plants can grow without it, but root-zone oxygen limitation means slower growth and missed yield potential
Bottom line: If you're using AutoPot, this is the quickest, cheapest way to add aeration where it counts.
Usage guidance
Installation
Place the AirDome at the bottom of your pot on top of your drainage layer (perlite or clay pebbles work well). Cover it with substrate — use a lighter, fluffier mix like 50% soil/coco blended with 50% perlite for best results. Connect the included tubing to your air pump and go.
Getting started
Don't turn it on immediately. Let your plants establish for 1–2 weeks first, then activate the aeration. This gives roots time to develop naturally before you introduce extra oxygen.
System setup
If you're running multiple AirDomes on one pump, keep the airline tubing length equal between pump and each pot. This maintains even air pressure across all containers. Position your pump higher than the pots to prevent water siphoning back when the pump is off.
Running schedule
Run the AirDome during daylight hours only — sync it with your grow lights for simplicity. Ideal air temperature is 64–70°F; keep it away from cold floors and anywhere below 41°F, as this can damage roots.
Substrate choice matters
Avoid dense, peat-based composts — they restrict air flow and reduce AirDome effectiveness. Lighter mixes perform significantly better.

Who this is for
- AutoPot growers looking to improve yields without changing their system
- Substrate-based growers wanting simple, affordable root-zone aeration
- Anyone scaling up AutoPot grows and needing multiple aeration points
- Growers in warm environments where water naturally holds less dissolved oxygen
- First-time AutoPot users wanting to maximise growth from the start
Particularly well suited to anyone already committed to AutoPot and wanting to unlock the next level of plant development without significant cost or complexity.
Our take
This is proper kit for the price. Root-zone oxygen is non-negotiable if you want plants firing on all cylinders, and the AirDome makes it dead simple. Growers are reporting noticeably faster growth and healthier root systems — that's not hype, that's biology.
If you're running AutoPot without aeration, worth picking up while clearance stock lasts. Does exactly what it should, day in, day out.
