Luxx Black/White Sheeting - Reflective Wall Cover and Heat Shield
Best for: growers lining a grow room, blocking outside light leakage, or shielding pots and systems from lamp heat on a budget.
Our thoughts
Black and white poly sheeting (sometimes called panda film) is the sensible budget alternative to mylar for lining a room. It won't crinkle and create hotspots the way mylar can, and the black backing does a genuinely useful job of keeping outside light from bleeding through your walls.
Luxx Black/White Sheeting is a dual-sided reflective poly sheeting, white on one face and black on the other, used for lining grow room walls, covering floors, or wrapping pots and hydroponic systems to shield them from the heat thrown off by grow lights. The white side reflects light back onto the canopy, at around 80-85% reflectivity, while the black backing blocks light bleeding through from outside the growing area.
It's sold in two roll formats: an 8m x 25m roll at 125 micron thickness, and a 2m x 150m roll at 85 micron thickness, giving you a choice between a thicker, more durable sheet for permanent lining or a longer, thinner roll for wrapping and covering jobs. It's worth noting this sheeting reflects and blocks light well but isn't a fully light-proof blackout material on its own, if you need a completely sealed room, pair it with dedicated light-block sheeting.
How it compares
Reflective sheeting for grow rooms ranges from basic poly through to specialist mylar.
- Mylar (silver) sheeting reflects more light, typically 90%+, but creases easily and can create hotspots on the canopy where the crinkled surface concentrates light.
- Generic black/white "panda film" from other suppliers covers similar ground at a similar price point, this is a well-established, widely-used category rather than a Luxx-exclusive material.
- Plain white-only poly is cheaper but reflects less and offers no light-blocking backing for keeping outside light out.
For a durable, budget-friendly way to reflect light back onto the canopy while cutting down on light bleed, black/white sheeting is a sensible middle ground between plain poly and mylar.
Usage guidance
How you use it depends on whether you're lining a room or wrapping equipment.
Wall lining
Fix with the white side facing into the grow space to maximise light reflected back onto plants, taping seams with black or silver duct tape to minimise light leaks between sheets.
Floor and equipment cover
Use to cover floors, tanks or hydroponic systems, shielding them from lamp heat and catching spills at the same time.
Cutting to size
Cut from the roll to fit your room or item, the 2m x 150m roll suits smaller wrapping jobs while the 8m x 25m roll suits larger wall areas.
Technical specifications
- Material: Dual-sided reflective poly sheeting
- White side reflectivity: Approx. 80-85%
- Black side: Light-blocking backing
- Roll option 1: 8m x 25m, 125 micron
- Roll option 2: 2m x 150m, 85 micron

Who this is for
- Growers lining tent or room walls on a budget compared to mylar
- Anyone needing to block outside light leaking into a grow space
- Growers wrapping pots, tanks or systems to shield them from lamp heat
- Budget-conscious growers who don't need full blackout-rated sheeting
Our take
Straightforward reflective sheeting that does the two jobs it's meant to: bouncing light back onto the canopy and cutting down light bleed, without the creasing and hotspot issues mylar can bring. Pick the roll size that matches whether you're lining a wall or wrapping equipment.
Proper kit at a price that makes sense for growers who want reflective coverage without the mylar price tag.
