Ecothrive Soil Food - Organic Top-Dress Nutrient System for Living Soil
Best for: Living soil growers who want a simple, stage-matched way to feed plants and recharge soil between crops, without mixing liquid nutrients.
Our thoughts
This is proper organic feeding made simple, three powders, each doing a specific job at a specific stage, rather than one all-purpose bag that's meant to do everything. If you're growing in living soil and want to keep it genuinely alive rather than just topping up NPK, this range is built exactly for that.
Ecothrive Soil Food is a range of three organic top-dress powders, Grow, Bloom and Re-Gen, designed to feed plants at specific stages of the growth cycle while also supporting the microbial life that makes living soil work. Soil Food Grow is built around soy amino hydrolysate for fast, accessible nitrogen during vegetative growth, Soil Food Bloom uses potassium lignosulphonate and fulvic acid to push flowering and fruiting, and Soil Food Re-Gen uses slow-release olivine along with bone meal to restore depleted soil between crops.
All three products also contain mealworm frass, Ecothrive Charge, to keep soil biology active, along with supporting minerals like micronised rock phosphate, potassium sulphate and gypsum. Rather than mixing and watering in a liquid feed, you top-dress the powder onto the soil surface and lightly scratch it into the top few centimetres, letting soil microbes and watering do the rest of the work.
How it compares
Powdered organic top-dress feeding is a different approach to the liquid nutrient bottles most growers are used to.
- Splits feeding into three stage-specific products, Grow, Bloom, Re-Gen, rather than the single "one bottle for everything" approach used by some organic liquid feeds like BioBizz Fish-Mix.
- The Re-Gen product specifically restores soil for reuse, a step most bottled liquid nutrient ranges don't address at all.
- Compares to other organic amendment ranges, such as Roots Organics or Down To Earth, in ingredient philosophy, but is built specifically to complement Ecothrive's own Living Soil range.
If you're already growing in living soil, this is a genuinely purpose-built system rather than a general-purpose feed adapted to fit, the trade-off is it's a slightly more hands-on top-dress method than pouring from a bottle.
Usage guidance
Each product in the range is used at a different point in the plant's life cycle.
Soil Food Grow
Apply 1-2g per litre of soil, top-dressed and scratched into the top 2-4cm, during the vegetative phase, roughly 3-4 weeks after planting for larger pots or beds.
Soil Food Bloom
Apply the same way once flowering starts, with an optional second application 2-3 weeks later for longer cycles, stopping top-dressing 4-5 weeks before harvest.
Soil Food Re-Gen
Use 2-4g per litre, blended into the top 20-25cm of soil after harvest to restore nutrients before the next planting.
Outdoor use
For field or garden soil, apply Grow/Bloom at 100-200g per square metre, or Re-Gen at 400-600g per square metre on depleted soil, repeating every 4-6 weeks as needed.

Our take
A genuinely well-thought-out system for anyone serious about living soil, it feeds plants at the right stage and puts real thought into restoring the soil afterwards rather than treating it as disposable.
Simple to apply once you know the dosing for your pot size. Worth picking up for anyone running Ecothrive Living Soil or a comparable living soil mix.
