Grow Gadgets Digital Hygrometer - Temperature and Humidity Monitor
Best for: growers who need a simple, accurate way to keep an eye on temperature and humidity in a tent or grow room.
Our thoughts
You can't manage what you can't measure, and this is the cheapest, easiest way to actually know what's happening inside your tent instead of guessing. It won't win any design awards, but it reads accurately and the battery lasts for months. Simple, cheap, does the job.
The Grow Gadgets Digital Hygrometer displays and tracks both temperature and humidity in your growing area, two of the biggest factors affecting plant growth, health and vigour. It shows a live reading alongside minimum and maximum values, so you can spot overnight temperature drops or humidity spikes you'd otherwise miss.
It runs on a single AAA battery rather than mains power, with typical battery life of around 12 months, and the large LCD display switches between °C and °F. It's the same style of unit widely sold as an "HTC-1" thermo-hygrometer, and it can sit on a shelf, clip to mesh, or mount to a tent wall.
How it compares
Basic digital hygrometers are a commodity category, and this competes on price against the same core technology sold under different names.
- Govee and ThermoPro's budget hygrometers offer similar core readings, sometimes with Bluetooth app connectivity, for a higher price.
- Combined thermostat/hygrometer controllers add automated fan or heater control, useful if you want automation rather than just a readout.
- Analogue dial thermometers are cheaper still but far less accurate and don't record min/max values.
You're getting accurate min/max digital monitoring without paying extra for app connectivity you may not need.
Usage guidance
Positioning matters more than most growers realise.
Placement
Mount or stand it at canopy height rather than near the floor or directly under a light, canopy-level readings reflect what your plants actually experience.
Reading min/max
Check the min/max values daily, not just the live reading, overnight temperature drops or midday humidity spikes are often the actual problem, not the reading you see when you happen to look.
Resetting
Reset the min/max memory after you make a change to your setup (new extraction, heater, humidifier) so you can judge whether the change actually worked.

Who this is for
- New growers who don't yet have a reliable way to check tent conditions
- Anyone troubleshooting mould, stretch or wilting who needs real temperature and humidity data
- Growers running multiple tents who want a cheap monitor for each one
Best suited to anyone who wants an accurate baseline reading before investing in automated climate control.
Our take
It's a small, cheap purchase that removes a surprising amount of guesswork from a grow. Knowing your actual temperature and humidity, including the overnight extremes, is the first step to fixing most environmental problems.
One we sell a lot of for new growers setting up their first tent.
