Guanokalong Complete Mix 50 Litre - Pre-Charged Organic Soil with Guano and Worm Castings
Best for: soil growers who want a ready-to-plant organic mix that needs minimal extra feeding early on.
Our thoughts
This is a proper organic soil mix rather than a bag of compost with a nutrient sticker slapped on. The bat guano is already worked through it, so you're not scrambling to feed seedlings in week one. Just know it's phosphorus-heavy from the guano, so you'll want a nitrogen-based feed ready fairly early once plants start putting on real growth.
Guanokalong Complete Mix is an organic soil substrate built from a blend of peat, Baltic peat, around 15% perlite and roughly 10% worm castings, with bat guano powder mixed through at a pre-set dose of around 350g per 45 litres of substrate, scaled up for this 50 litre bag. The combination promotes fast rooting and strong early growth without needing to add feed straight away.
Guano itself carries an NPK profile of roughly 1-10-1, so it's heavily weighted towards phosphorus, which is excellent for root development but light on nitrogen. Complete Mix is designed as a starting substrate rather than a complete feeding programme on its own - once plants move into vigorous vegetative growth, you'll need to bring in a nitrogen-based feed to keep up with demand. Guanokalong themselves suggest the mix can theoretically carry a plant from week one through to harvest without extra fertiliser, but most growers find a nitrogen top-up from mid-veg onward gives better results.
How it compares
Guanokalong sits in the same "pre-fertilised organic soil" category as a handful of well-known Dutch and UK brands.
- BioBizz All-Mix is the most direct comparison - a similarly pre-fertilised, peat-based organic mix, though BioBizz leans on worm castings and various plant meals rather than guano as the core additive.
- Plagron's Bat-Mix is built specifically around guano, much like Complete Mix, and the two are close competitors on both formulation and price.
- Canna Terra Professional is less heavily pre-fertilised, meaning it typically needs feed introduced sooner than Complete Mix.
Complete Mix holds its own against the established Dutch organic soil brands, with guano doing the heavy lifting on early root development rather than a broader mix of organic inputs.
Usage guidance
Planting
Use straight from the bag with no additional mixing required - it's ready to plant into directly.
Early feeding
Hold off on extra feed for the first few weeks while the pre-mixed guano is still active, then introduce a nitrogen-based feed once plants are established and growing vigorously.
Reuse
If reusing the soil for a second grow, recharge it with additional Guanokalong powder to restore nutrient levels. It's not recommended to reuse the same soil more than twice.

Who this is for
- Soil growers wanting a genuinely pre-fertilised organic starting mix
- New growers who want fewer feeding decisions to make early on
- Anyone prioritising strong early root development over convenience feeding
- Growers comfortable adding a nitrogen feed once plants hit vigorous growth
Best suited to soil growers happy to top up with a nitrogen feed mid-grow rather than relying on the mix alone from start to finish.
Our take
Complete Mix gives soil growers a genuine head start - fast rooting and strong early growth baked into the bag, courtesy of properly worked-through bat guano rather than a token nutrient boost. Just plan for a nitrogen feed once the phosphorus-heavy guano stops carrying the plant on its own.
Does exactly what it should, day in, day out. Worth picking up if you want an organic soil that's already doing some of the work for you.
