This kit pairs an RVK inline extraction fan with a correctly matched Rhino Pro carbon filter, the same core combination as Growers House's standard RVK and Rhino Pro kit, but with acoustic (sound-insulated) ducting in place of standard combi ducting. RVK fans were originally built for industrial ventilation duty, which is why they have a reputation for being practically indestructible - there are quieter, more efficient EC fans on the market now if you want to spend more, but for a fan that will simply keep running reliably for years, RVK is a proven choice.

The Rhino Pro filter uses virgin Australian-mined RC412 carbon in a sealed, high-efficiency cylinder, matched in size to the fan across the range from 4" / 184 m3/hr up to 8" / 1008 m3/hr. The acoustic ducting adds a layer of sound-deadening insulation around the airflow path, which noticeably reduces the noise that would otherwise travel down a standard flexible duct run.

Usage guidance

Setup follows the same principles as any RVK and Rhino Pro kit, with one extra consideration for the ducting.

Assembly
Clamp the Rhino Pro filter to the fan intake with an airtight seal, then connect the acoustic ducting to the fan outlet and run it to your extraction point.

Ducting runs
Keep runs as short and straight as practical - acoustic ducting is slightly stiffer than standard flexible ducting, so avoid tight bends that could restrict airflow.

Noise expectations
The acoustic ducting reduces noise travelling along the duct run, but positioning the fan itself away from a shared wall or ceiling void will make the biggest difference in a noise-sensitive space.
