Dutch Pro Original Bloom Soil A&B SW — Two-Part Soil Bloom Nutrients for Soft Water
Best for: Soil growers in soft water areas who want simple, reliable flowering nutrition without the fuss
Our thoughts
Dutch Pro have spent 30 years getting this right in Holland, and it shows. This is a properly balanced soft water bloom feed that doesn't overcomplicate things. It sits at exactly the right strength for soil, stays clean through the flowering window, and won't leave you chasing deficiencies at the end.
Dutch Pro Original Bloom Soil A&B SW is a two-part base nutrient built specifically for soil-grown plants during flowering in soft water areas. Unlike generic bloom feeds adapted from hydro systems, this is engineered from the ground up for soil growing — which means lower nitrogen, higher potassium and phosphorus, and proper mineral balance for blooming without the late-stage fade.
The soft water formulation is the key. Soft water lacks background minerals that hard water carries, so Dutch Pro have already compensated for that in the recipe. You're not fighting mineral lockouts or having to adjust on the fly. You mix equal parts A and B, feed at the right strength, and let it work.
How it compares
Dutch Pro sits in the straightforward, soil-specific bloom base nutrient bracket — proper kit at sensible money.
- Purpose-built for soil, not a hydro feed squeezed into soil use
- Soft water-optimised, so no guessing on mineral content or pH swings
- Lower nitrogen, higher K and P — exactly what flowering plants need in this stage
- Simpler than multi-part systems; you only need A, B, and optional additives like Explode if you want them
- 30 years of professional Dutch growing knowledge in the bottle
Compared to BioBizz (organic, slower acting), this is mineral-based and faster. Compared to Advanced Nutrients Sensi Bloom (premium pricing), this delivers the same core job for less money. Good value without cutting corners.
Usage guidance
Mixing and feeding strength
Use 2–3 ml of part A and 2–3 ml of part B per litre of water. Always add part A first, mix well, then add part B. Never mix the concentrates together directly. This builds an EC of around 1.8–2.0, which is right for soil bloom feeding.
Application method
Works equally well with hand watering or any drip system. Soil is forgiving with delivery method — the nutrient does the work.
Feeding window
Start using from the flip to flowering right through to your final flush. Stop heavy feeding 2 weeks before finish to let the plant metabolise what's left.
pH management
Aim for a pH between 5.8 and 6.5. Dutch Pro make a pH Down for Bloom that pairs perfectly if your tap water runs high, though soft water is usually in range naturally.
Tank life and safety
Mix fresh every 5–7 days if hand watering. In a circulating system, check strength every few days — soil root zones hold nutrient differently to hydro, so drift is slow but it happens.

Who this is for
- Soil growers in soft water areas (UK, Scotland, Wales — most of the country, really) who want the guesswork removed
- Growers transitioning from soil grow nutrients to a dedicated bloom feed and wanting something simple
- Budget-conscious growers who don't want to run 5+ bottles of additives just to get decent flowers
- Anyone replacing a bloom feed mid-grow who needs something that mixes clean and works reliably
- Growers who value professional Dutch growing knowledge without premium pricing
Especially suited to anyone growing in soil who is tired of chasing late-stage deficiencies or pH swings. The soft water formulation solves that problem before it starts.
Our take
This is how professional growers in Holland have done it for three decades — proper soil bloom nutrition that stays balanced and gets the job done. Dutch Pro don't spend money on fancy packaging; they spend it on what's inside the bottle. And it shows.
If you're on soft water and growing soil, this is a solid entry point into reliable bloom feeding. It won't rinse your budget, it mixes clean, and it delivers consistent results. You're not paying for hype, just for over 30 years of proven growing knowledge.
Worth picking up while stock lasts. Does exactly what it should, flowering through to finish.
