Dutch Pro Original Bloom Hydro/Coco A&B SW — Two-Part Bloom Nutrient for Soft Water Growing
Best for: Hydro and coco growers in soft water areas who want reliable flowering nutrition without the premium price tag
Our thoughts
Dutch Pro's been making serious nutrients for over 30 years, and it shows. This soft water blend is properly formulated — not a generic nutrient with a water variant slapped on. It handles the bloom stage consistently, won't throw curve balls if you're dialling it in, and costs significantly less than the premium names. One we sell a lot of for growers who want quality without the markup.
Dutch Pro Original Bloom Hydro/Coco A&B SW is a two-part mineral base nutrient engineered specifically for the flowering stage in hydroponic and coco systems. The soft water formulation compensates for low background minerals in your water supply, ensuring consistent nutrient uptake and balanced plant feeding throughout bloom.
This is proper bloom nutrition built on three decades of Dutch growing knowledge. No gimmicks, no fancy packaging inflating the price — the money's gone into what's inside the bottle, which is why it delivers results at a fraction of what premium competitors charge.
How it compares
Dutch Pro sits in the mid-tier value segment against established bloom nutrients.
- Same functional quality as Advanced Nutrients or Canna, without the premium positioning
- More stable than generic A&B systems, formulated for consistency not aggression
- Water-specific variants (soft and hard water formulations) — most competitors ignore this detail
- Clean two-part mixing that won't cause precipitation or nutrient lockout
In plain terms: you're getting proven Dutch breeding stock nutrients at a price that actually makes sense.
Usage guidance
Mixing protocol
Always add part A to water first, mix thoroughly, then add part B. Never mix the concentrates together neat — they'll react and become unusable. Use a syringe or measuring beaker for accuracy.
Dosing
Mix at 2.5 to 3.5 ml/litre of both part A and part B. Use an EC or TDS meter (Bluelab Truncheon works well) to dial in your solution strength. Soft water typically needs the mid-to-upper end of this range.
Feeding window
Run this from the first signs of flowering through to final flush. Renew your reservoir every 7 days for best results — nutrient ratios drift over time, so fresh solution keeps uptake stable.
System compatibility
Works equally well in hand-watered coco, drip systems, NFT, and flood-and-drain setups. The formulation is clean enough for recirculating systems if you monitor pH closely.
pH management
Target 5.8 for optimal nutrient availability. Soft water drifts less than hard water, but check and adjust every few days if you're running a recirculating system.

Who this is for
- Soft water area growers who've struggled with standard A&B nutrients
- Intermediate hydro and coco growers wanting proven, reliable results
- Budget-conscious operations running multiple systems where nutrient costs add up
- Anyone tired of paying premium prices for branded bottles with minimal difference in the actual product
- Growers who prefer simplicity — a solid two-part system that doesn't require endless additives
Particularly well suited to UK growers in naturally soft water regions (Scotland, some of Wales, parts of the North) where water chemistry actually matters.
Our take
This is a proper two-part bloom feed at a price that respects your budget. Dutch Pro's 30-year track record speaks louder than marketing spend, and the soft water formulation proves they've actually thought about British growing conditions rather than just rebranding a generic product.
If you're building a reliable hydro or coco bloom setup and don't fancy paying premium prices for water and packaging, worth picking up while stock lasts. Does exactly what it should, day in, day out.
