Buddhas Tree Coco A&B — Premium Two-Part Base Nutrient for Coco Growing
Best for: Growers using coco substrate who want a single reliable base nutrient covering both growth and flowering without the premium Canna price tag
Our thoughts
This is Buddhas Tree's answer to the coco-specific nutrient market, and it's a proper bit of kit. Chelated nutrients, balanced calcium levels designed for coco's quirks, and the backing of a company with serious growing pedigree. If you're after a solid alternative to the household names without the markup, worth paying attention to.
Buddhas Tree Coco A&B is a premium two-part base nutrient specifically formulated for plants grown in coco substrate. After years focusing on additives, Buddhas Tree have finally released a base nutrient that understands how coco actually works — extra calcium and magnesium to counterbalance what the medium naturally binds, chelated micronutrients for faster uptake, and a single formula that covers you from first growth right through to the end of flowering.
This is a complete feeding solution. No guesswork, no separate grow and bloom bottles, no "do I need calcium?" headaches. Just Part A and Part B mixed in equal amounts, straight into your system or hand-watering can.
How it compares
Buddhas Tree Coco A&B sits in the premium-performance tier of coco-specific base nutrients.
-
Vs. Canna Coco A&B (market standard): Same functional performance and coco-specific formulation, significantly lower cost. Grower feedback shows negligible difference in final results, with performance parity across growth and bloom cycles.
-
Vs. standard hydroponic feeds: This is specifically calibrated for coco. Standard nutrients leave coco-grown plants short on calcium and magnesium — coco-specific formulas prevent that problem before it starts.
-
Vs. Advanced Nutrients Sensi Coco: Both use chelated micronutrients and extra calcium. Buddhas Tree offers a cleaner two-part system without the pH-buffering complexity.
In short: you get coco-specific science at a price that actually makes sense.
Usage guidance
Buddhas Tree Coco A&B is designed to work across any growing system and method.
Hand watering
Mix 3–4ml of Part A and 3–4ml of Part B per litre of water. During growth, start at 2–3ml per litre and increase to 3ml per litre as plants establish. During flowering, maintain 3ml per litre up to week 6, then drop to 2ml per litre in week 7.
Hydroponic systems (drip, flood table, or reservoir-fed)
Fill your reservoir with water first. Add Part A and Part B separately — never mix them together outside the tank or they'll clump and be unusable. Let each part dissolve fully before adding the other. Maintain pH between 5.5–6.2, adjusting lower for vegetative growth and gradually higher as you move into flowering.
With other Buddhas Tree additives
If you're running the full Buddhas Tree ecosystem (Flower Burst, PK 9-18, Meta-Boost), reduce base nutrient dose to 2ml per litre of each part. This prevents overfeeding and keeps EC balanced.
Full-cycle approach
Use Coco A&B from first growth all the way through to final flush. It's your only base nutrient needed — additives layer on top, not replace it.

Who this is for
- Coco growers tired of paying premium prices for standard formulas
- Anyone switching from soil to coco who wants a nutrient specifically designed for the medium
- Growers running hand-watering or any hydroponic system — coco-specific base works across everything
- Buddhas Tree ecosystem users who want matched chemistry across all their feeds
- Experienced growers who understand coco's calcium-binding behaviour and want a formula that accounts for it
- New coco growers wanting to start with proper science, not trial and error
Our take
Buddhas Tree have delivered a solid coco-specific base nutrient backed by serious growing knowledge — their biochemist is rated top in the world for agricultural applications, so this isn't guesswork. The formulation accounts for coco's natural quirks (calcium absorption, potassium release), the chelation means faster nutrient availability, and you get complete feeding from a single two-part system.
If you're buying coco substrate, you need coco-specific nutrients. This is a proper alternative to the established names without the establishment price. Good time to buy while stock lasts.
