Triminator Moisture Meter - Pin-Style Meter for Drying and Curing
Best for: growers who want to stop guessing when flower is ready to trim, jar up or cure.
Our thoughts
Drying by feel is how you end up with mouldy jars or brittle, harsh-smoking buds - this takes the guesswork out entirely. It's a simple tool doing one job well, and the 10-LED readout means you don't need to interpret a fiddly digital number either. One we'd point new growers towards specifically because it removes a decision they're likely to get wrong on their first few harvests.
The Triminator Moisture Meter is a handheld, pin-style moisture meter designed specifically for flower rather than wood or soil. You insert the two probe pins gently into a bud, and within seconds a 10-LED display lights up to show where the sample sits on the moisture spectrum, rather than making you interpret a raw percentage figure. It's battery-powered and will warn you when the battery is running low.
Moisture testing matters most during drying and curing. Flower with moisture content above roughly 10% risks mould and a smeared, sticky result if you're machine trimming; below about 9% it turns fragile and starts losing trim quality and trichomes. Knowing where you actually stand, rather than guessing from how a bud feels, is the difference between a clean cure and a spoiled batch.
How it compares
Most growers judge dryness by touch, snap-test or guesswork - this replaces that with an actual reading.
- Purpose-built for flower moisture content, unlike general-purpose meters designed for timber or potting soil that aren't calibrated for the same range
- Gives a fast, at-a-glance LED readout rather than a raw numeric percentage that still needs interpreting
- Used alongside Triminator's own dry trimming machines, where the 9-10% moisture window is the target for clean, non-smeared trimming
A specialist tool at a specialist price - if you're serious about consistent drying and curing, it earns its place over guesswork.
Usage guidance
Taking a reading
Switch the meter on and gently insert the pins into a representative bud, ideally from the middle of your drying batch rather than the driest outer material. Hold for a few seconds until the LED display settles.
Reading the display
The LED band shows where the sample falls across the moisture range - lower toward one end means drier, higher toward the other means wetter. Aim for the 9-10% window if you're planning to machine trim.
During drying
Check daily as flower approaches the end of its dry, rather than only once at the end, so you can time trimming or jarring for cure at the right moment rather than by guesswork.
Battery care
Replace batteries as soon as the low-battery warning appears, since a weak battery can affect reading accuracy.

- Home growers who've had mould or over-dried batches from guessing wrong previously
- Commercial or higher-volume growers who need consistency across every batch, not just one
Our take
This is a small, specific tool that solves a real problem - knowing exactly when your harvest is ready rather than hoping you've judged it right. The LED display makes it genuinely easy to use, even if you've never touched a moisture meter before.
One we sell a lot of for new growers.
