Ecothrive Biosys — Instant Mycorrhizal Fungi & Beneficial Bacteria Tea Powder
Best for: Growers wanting the benefits of microbial inoculants without brewing compost tea, from seedlings through to established plants
Our thoughts
This is proper biology in powder form. Ecothrive Biosys cuts out the brewing hassle — you get a full spectrum of mycorrhizal fungi, nitrogen-fixing bacteria, and Trichoderma without needing to ferment anything. If you're already using Ecothrive Charge, this pairs brilliantly and amplifies the whole system. One we shift a lot of.
Ecothrive Biosys is a water-soluble microbial inoculant powder that delivers billions of beneficial microorganisms directly to your root zone. Mix it into water, apply it, done. It's an instant alternative to aerated compost tea — all the biology, none of the faffing about. Contains 8 species of mycorrhizal fungi, multiple strains of beneficial bacteria including nitrogen-fixers, protective Trichoderma, and a blend of humic acids, enzymes, and seaweed extract to keep the microbes thriving.
How it compares
This sits in the premium microbial inoculant category, priced higher than basic single-strain products but lower than top-tier liquid compost teas.
- Multi-species mycorrhizal blend (8 fungi strains) — more diversity than single-strain competitors, giving plants choice
- Instant water-soluble format — no brewing, no aeration equipment needed
- Designed to work synergistically with Ecothrive Charge for amplified results
- Includes growth catalysts (humic acids, fulvic acids, kelp) — not just microbes
- Trichoderma included for pathogen suppression, particularly useful in high-humidity environments
Usage guidance
Biosys works across soil, coco, and hydroponic systems. Dosage and frequency depend on your setup:
Propagation and transplanting
Add 10g per 10 litres of water. Pre-soak plugs or media for 15 minutes before planting. This is where Biosys shines — faster root establishment, lower losses, quicker recovery from transplant shock.
Established plants in soil or coco
Add 5g per 10 litres of water. Water to run-off, repeat every 1–2 weeks. Use plain water or half-strength nutrients when applying.
Hydroponic systems (recirculating)
Add 2.5g per 10 litres. Change every 1–2 weeks with reservoir changes. Water must be actively aerated; keep nutrient EC below 1.5 to avoid osmotic stress on microbes.
Stress recovery
For heat shock, root damage, or nutrient lock-out, mix 0.5g per litre and apply every 5 days in plain water until recovery shows.
Critical note: Chlorine kills microbes. Either use Ecothrive Neutralise before adding Biosys, or let tap water stand for 24 hours. Pre-dilute your dose in roughly 1 litre of water before adding to larger reservoirs.

- Anyone propagating or transplanting who wants to reduce establishment time and losses
- Soil and coco growers looking for biology without the mess and time commitment of brewing compost tea
- Hydroponic growers wanting to introduce beneficial microbes to recirculating systems
- Growers dealing with stressed plants who need faster recovery — particularly after heat or transplant shock
- Anyone serious about root zone health and nutrient uptake optimization
Our take
Ecothrive Biosys does what it should — it establishes beneficial microbiology in your root zone fast, with zero brewing. The 8-species mycorrhizal blend and inclusion of Trichoderma sets it apart from single-strain competitors, and if you're already using Charge, this genuinely amplifies results.
Not the cheapest instant inoculant on the market, but backed by competition growers and proven track record. Worth picking up while stock lasts, especially if you're transplanting or propagating soon.
