Canna Hydro Flores HW A&B — Two-Part Flowering Nutrients for Hard Water Hydroponics
Best for: Run-to-waste hydroponic systems in hard water areas during the flowering stage
Our thoughts
If you're flowering on hard water, this is the version you need. Hard water growing is a proper headache — pH swings all over, calcium clogs everything, and nutrient balance goes to pot. This formulation cuts through that noise. Once you dial it in, it runs steady through bloom without constant fiddling. One we recommend a lot to growers battling hard water.
Canna Hydro Flores HW A&B is a professional two-part mineral base nutrient engineered for flowering hydroponics in hard water areas. It's specifically balanced to account for the mineral content already in your water supply, preventing calcium lockout and nutrient imbalance — two problems that plague hard water growers. Designed for run-to-waste systems using inert substrates like clay pebbles or rockwool, it delivers a 5-3-10 NPK ratio with chelated trace elements, giving your plants exactly what they need when they shift into flower production.
How it compares
Canna Hydro Flores HW sits in the premium professional two-part category for flowering nutrients.
-
vs. Ionic Bloom Hard Water: Both are hard water specialists; Canna has longer pedigree and proven track record over 20+ years
-
vs. General Hydroponics (soft water formula): GH works, but you'll fight pH and calcium management on hard water — Canna HW does that fighting for you
-
vs. Mills Basis A+B Hard Water: Mills offers budget pricing; Canna delivers heritage, stability, and booster ecosystem compatibility
-
vs. one-part nutrients: Two-part gives you precision and wider micronutrient range, especially important when hard water is already loading your tank with minerals
You're paying for formulation that understands your water supply, not just pushing standard ratios at hard water problems.
Usage guidance
Mixing protocol
Never mix part A and B concentrates together — this causes trace elements to become insoluble. Always add part A to your water first, stir thoroughly, then add part B and stir again. This matters.
Dosage for run-to-waste systems
Use 2–4ml per litre of both part A and part B. Start at 2ml/litre for light-feeding plants, increase to 4ml/litre for heavier feeders. This gives you a target EC/CF range of 18–27, which suits most flowering crops.
pH and tank management
Maintain pH between 5.2–6.2. Hard water will naturally run higher, so expect to adjust downward more than you would on soft water. Refresh your entire reservoir every 7 days and aim for 10–20% run-off at each watering. This keeps salt buildup under control.
Timing
Switch to Hydro Flores as soon as flowers start to form. Use it through the flowering stage and into the final flush period. If you're running Canna's veg nutrients beforehand, Hydro Flores integrates cleanly into that system.
Booster compatibility
Hydro Flores plays well with Canna's full range of additives and boosters, so you can add PK boosters, beneficial bacteria, or other products without formula conflicts.

Who this is for
- Growers in hard water areas struggling with calcium lockout and pH instability
- Run-to-waste hydroponic systems using clay pebbles, rockwool, or other inert media
- Experienced hydro growers who understand two-part nutrient systems and want precision control
- Anyone running drip irrigation, ebb and flow, or NFT systems on hard water
- Growers who value proven heritage and stability over budget options — Canna has 20+ years of development and testing behind this formula
- Those moving up from one-part nutrients and wanting more micronutrient coverage and customisation
Our take
Canna Hydro Flores HW isn't a bargain option — it's a properly engineered solution to a real problem. Hard water hydro growing is difficult. Calcium builds up, your pH climbs, nutrient balance shifts, and you spend half your time fighting the water instead of feeding the plants. This removes that friction.
It's one we sell consistently to growers who've moved beyond guessing and want their nutrient solution to work with their water supply, not against it. The two-part format gives you precision, the HW formulation saves you constant adjustment, and the booster ecosystem means you can scale up without changing your base.
If you're flowering on hard water and you're not using a hard water formula, you're making your life harder than it needs to be. Worth picking up while stock lasts.
